The classic afternoon rain almost ruined the day but the streets dried quick and Indigenous Day/Go Skate Day contests were on! Starting at the Plaza then hitting the streets, first Millennium then Woodsworth, then off to West Brodway Skatepark for a few mini-comps. Julian Hein was surprised with an honorary Sk8 Skates pro-model and the day was done.

In memory of Tyson Hobson. The goal of DWT has always been to promote and spread skating which is why I’m super pumped to announce that DWT will be stocked in all Louis Riel high school libraries and select elementary schools in Winnipeg. Skating has changed my life and hopefully though the mag, others will find it as well!
Due to the cold weather delaying the skate season, I’ve decided to postpone the issue. The next edition will be in fall 2022. All this means is more time to stockpile and refine content, as opposed to a rushed and poor quality issue. Though there won’t be an issue this spring, I have lots of things planned, from clothing drops, events, meetups and video projects. As well, I have some exciting plans for this fall issue, something DWT and Winnipeg has never seen before…

Thanks to all the shops who have supported DWT so far, and all others who support skateboarding. Our local shops are the core of the skateboarding community. DWT would be nowhere near where it is now if it wasn't for local shops. Happy Skateshop Day!
For a full list with links to shops who carry DWT product, click here. Jackson went on the Zinespiration chat to talk mags, photography and DWT.
Check out the full episode here. DWT editor, Jackson Toone talks about the process of shooting, editing and putting out the mag in this episode of the Skateboard Canada show. This episode was all about mags, honoring the 500th issue of Thrasher, speaking with Word Zine editor, Alex, and talking with myself on DWT.
The Nine Club guys did a quick little unboxing of DWT Issue 4.
Watch the full video here. It's around the 1h 26m mark. DWT landed a spot on the front of the Arts and Life section and a blub on the cover of the Winnipeg Free Press on Saturday, January 8, 2022.
The article dives into the process of creating the mag with editor and owner Jackson Toone. Featuring complementary interviews with Erik Penton, Fane Smeall and Patrick Hansen. Thanks to Ben Waldman for an outstanding job with the writing, Daniel Crump for shooting photos and Mike Sudoma for setting it all up originally. Check out the full article here.
DWT 5 and our winter clothing line is finally here! This issue marks the two-year anniversary of DWT as well as our transition away from a zine and into a magazine.
From the print quality, the photos, and the size of the issue, a lot has changed. Issue 5 is 84 pages of pure street skating photos with lifestyle shots mixed in. All printed on high quality paper in full colour. The cover has a smooth matte finish that feels great in your hands. One of my favourite things about the fifth edition is that it has a proper perfect bound spine. DWT is still shot, edited and ran by Jackson Toone, other than some photos in a small submissions section. Fane Smeall scored a spot on the cover for a second time with a gnarly NBD flip front board on the Woodsworth angler. Erik Penton landed a spot on the back cover with a flip crook for Emerica. Photo: Dillan Lavallee. As for the clothing, thanks to @tail_block and @glorytheartist for coming up with some great designs. Grab a copy and some clothing here, or from one of our many retailers.
DWT 5 is almost here! Pre-order your copy at here, or pick one up in person at our release contest on December 11th at The Edge.
